Intended audience:

Abstract: The Dryad project (http://www.datadryad.org) operates a repository for research data supporting publications in the domain of bio sciences. This presentation proposal highlights approaches and learnings from the Dryad project in following areas.
Technology
Over the years, the metadata lifecycle has been optimized with deep involvement at the publisher side. By enabling maximal (re-)usage of existing metadata and automated generation, the effort to submit data is kept as low as possible for individual scientists.
Governance
Governed by a consortium of academic institutions and publishers, the project combines the efforts of different stakeholders to distribute costs and increase uptake in the community.
